Great Beginnings Academy, a 501c3 nonprofit, delivers quality and affordable early development programs so that children have an equal opportunity to succeed, especially disadvantaged children. The Center is located at 3101 Cove Road NW, Roanoke, VA 24017, inside the Garden of Prayer #7 Vision of Faith Ministries church.

MISSION

Provide a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environment in conjunction with a quality educational curriculum that assists the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of children.

Anti-poverty Initiative

Literacy is our premiere program to reduce the impact on poverty. The National Institute for Literacy estimates that 43% of adults with deficient literacy skills live in poverty. We provide a literacy-rich environment to focus on:

• Basic literacy, which is reading, writing, comprehension, and recollection literacy
• Numerical literacy
• Understanding charts, diagrams, and data
• Solve problems
• Check answers
• Explain solutions
• Use logic
• Digital literacy is the ability to use technology to solve problems and to express oneself.

EDUCATION

We know that the most critical factor contributing to a child's learning success is teachers' quality. Our staff and teachers meet the required qualifications, and they actively continue their professional development in child development.

Religious Exempt Center

In compliance with the Code of Virginia, Section 63.2-1716, this Center is religiously exempt from licensure and is classified as a “religiously exempt child day center.”

Great Beginnings Academy is a Christian-based child development program affiliated with the Garden of Prayer #7 Vision of Faith Ministries church. While providing a loving, Christian environment for learning, we do not enforce religious beliefs on enrolled children or their parents.
