Children get age-appropriate meaningful activities for the development of cognitive, language, and literacy; social and emotional; perceptual, motor, and physical development; and approaches to learning.
LITERACY
Literacy is our premiere program to reduce the impact on poverty. We focus on: basic literacy, numerical literacy, digital literacy, and STEM literacy.
DEVELOPMENTAL EXPERIENCES
The Innovations: The Comprehensive Curriculum series is a complete, interactive curriculum for toddlers and preschoolers. In addition to the wealth of activities, children learn by engaging in everyday experiences to help them
- Adjust to school
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and friends
- Make friends
- Express feelings
- Explore roles
- Solve problem
PLAY-BASED LEARNING
Play-based learning helps children develop holistically through social-emotional learning, develop confidence and motivation, and practice cognitive skills. Our curriculum allows children to
Choose an enjoyable play activity, how they’ll play, and how long to play at a chosen event.
Have ample time to explore and discover during play. Children are directed by their interests, not by any prescribed rules or plans.
Use their imagination, ‘make-believe’, or ‘playing pretend’ through dramatic play centers.
CHRISTIAN FOUNDATIONS
Children learn about the Bible, God, and Jesus. They learn daily rituals such as blessing their food before eating and saying the Lord’s Prayer before nap. They love acting out Bible stories during story time.
LEARNING CENTERS
Our curriculum and meaningful classroom activities are guided by Virginia’s Foundation Blocks for Early Learning to ensure children have essential skills and knowledge to succeed in Kindergarten and beyond. Nine learning centers facilitate learning
- Literacy
- Science
- Math
- History and Social Science
- Music and Movement
STEM INTEGRATION
Preschoolers and school-age children enjoy solving problems, and we make it fun to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We introduce STEM careers through dramatic play centers where children can play freely and be guided by teachers to solve cognitive development challenges.
