Nurture

We’ve created a nurturing environment to encourage, nourish, and care for children as they discover themselves and their world.

Our classrooms are warm, loving, and sensory vibrant so that physical and emotional needs are met.

There are three discrete components of our nurturing early childhood environment – physical, social, and temporal.

• Children have access to a well-designed and challenging physical environment offering enriching activities.
• Children have positive regard from their teacher and high-quality interactions with their peers.
• Children have the opportunity to play outside, be active, and simultaneously have opportunities to practice skills such as writing and coloring and cutting that will help them be successful in future environments.

Children and parents experience an atmosphere that:

• Embraces the culture and needs of each child.
• Understands what the child is learning and how he/she is learning.
• Promotes learning through active participation, and established routines and rituals.
• Cares and feeds the child’s emotional side and builds the child’s self-esteem.
• Promotes positive discipline and behavior management planning.

Discipline. Discipline does not mean punishment. Training teaches children how to be safe, behave on their own, and know the difference between right and wrong.

Positive Reinforcement. We believe that when children receive positive, nonviolent, and understanding interactions from adults and others, they develop good self-concepts, problem-solving abilities, and self-discipline.

Behavior Management. We believe that teaching children the difference between right and wrong, including why they should do right, will help them choose behaviors acceptable to teachers and parents.
